“Eurocana”, is the name of the band AND describes a musical genre.
It is a celebration of the great American Songbook with inspiration from the
Gypsy fueled jazz of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli.

“Eurocana”: George Cole on lead vocals and lead guitar, Echae Kang on violin, French Gypsy guitarist Mathias Minquet Villarino, and Jenefer Taylor on vocals.

George Cole: Guitarist, Vocalist, Composer. George Cole just wants to play his guitar and sing his songs for you. He has toured with Joe Walsh, recorded with producer Roy Thomas Baker (Queen and Paul McCartney), performed, played guitar and sang duets with jazz legend Keely Smith. He recorded on Chris Isaak's platinum selling Forever Blue Album. George was guitar instructor and mentor to Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt of Green Day. Most recently George continues to tour extensively and presented the first annual L'esprit de Django et Stephane Festival at The Freight and Salvage in Berkeley. He’ s now in preproduction for a new record and the summer of 2012 will find him performing shows on the West Coast and Midwest.

Mathias Minquet Villarino: French/Argentinean guitarist Mathias Minquet Villarino is an accomplished musician who is a graduate of both The Sorbonne in Paris and Berklee College of Music. Prior to his studies in Boston his varied musical experience included performing with Enrique Iglesias, Laura Pausini, and the Pussycat Dolls. After his first semester at Berkelee he was selected as the guitarist of an international jazz act presented by Universal Music Group/Decca Records, an assemblage of the finest new talents in the world. This project took Mathias to London where he and the band toured and recorded with producer Steve Christian. Mathias demonstrates a wide-ranging base of knowledge and skilled mastery of many styles.

Echae Kang: Echae was born in Jinju South Korea to music loving family. She was six when she began playing violin and studied classical music. She loves jazz—gypsy and straight-ahead styles—and it influenced her playing. After years of classical violin training she enrolled in the Seoul Jazz Academy , and then went on to audition and graduate from Berkelee College of Music. While at Berklee, she expanded her reach while still respecting her classical roots. She's played with string virtuoso Mark O'Connor, legendary bassist Ron Carter, Grammy nominated vocalist Lalah Hathaway, and Academy Award nominated composer Alan Silvestri.

Jenefer Taylor: Jenefer can attribute her continuing success to her unwavering dedication to her true passion -- music. Her vocals have countless times rendered audiences speechless. Time and time again Jenefer delivers performances that elicit the utmost praise. George is delighted and honored to share the stage with her.
