For children ages 4-5! An additional class for 2-3 year olds coming soon.
These classes utilize the natural curiosity of children to explore and develop their musical abilities. Depending on the level, activities may include improvisation with basic musical fundamentals, exploring and organizing all of the different sounds in the environment through play, basic notation, keyboard skills, rhythms, and pitch recognition all thru improvisatory techniques. Parents are invited to improvise (no experience necessary) on a variety of instruments while kids learn basic keyboard skills, beginning music reading, ear training and basic rhythm, all the while exercising and developing their own creativity. The Orff Method with Laura Sherman!
Classes offered for ages 4-5 at both Oakland locations. Play Percussion instruments, xylophones, and drums. Music from America and around the world. Play musical games/dance with scarves. 8 week session for $180.00. Beginning Soon... Laura Sherman is known throughout the community for her involvement with the Orff program in the local schools. We are fortunate to offer this course to the grand public. |
