Dave Meder CANCELLED

Unfortunately, this concert has been cancelled due to the current coronavirus situation.  He hopes to reschedule in the near future.

Pianist, composer and educator Dave Meder is becoming one of the prominent artists of his generation, known for a panoramic, genre-bending approach that has earned him slots in the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Piano Competition and the American Pianists Awards. He has been described as “inventing his music freely, bringing honky-tonk, swing, blues, rock-and-roll — in other words a vibrant hybrid of the whole American spectrum — to bear…” (All About Jazz).

He has performed at a host of national and international venues, including several headlining stands at Dizzy’s Club in NYC, Blue Whale in Los Angeles, The Kennedy Center, and the Tokyo Jazz Festival. In 2013, Meder won the esteemed Jacksonville Jazz Piano Competition. His latest album, Passage, is a dynamically interactive trio outing boasting appearances by Chris Potter and Miguel Zenón, garnering attention as one of All Music Guide’s “Favorite Jazz Albums of 2019.”

Meder is also a skilled composer-arranger, having earned the FirstMusic Commission of the New York Youth Symphony, and a slot in the BMI Jazz Composers Workshop. As the Assistant Professor of Jazz Piano at the University of North Texas, he is currently the youngest instructor employed in one of the nation’s most renowned music programs. Dave Meder is a YAMAHA Artist. davemeder.com | facebook.com/davemederpiano | Instagram: @davemederpiano
