Muddy Waters’ pianist Pinetop Perkins called Carmen Getit his “favorite guitarist;” she performed and recorded with him on “Ladies Man,” which was nominated for a Grammy and won the W.C. Handy award for “Best Traditional Blues Album.” She’s been called “one of the most striking young blues guitarists in the country”, and is profiled in the All Music Guide’s “500 Top Jazz Vocalists.”

Steve Lucky is described as “one of the finest two-fisted piano players in the country” by MC Records, and is in demand for his driving, Otis Spann-style Chicago blues piano, early swing stylings and his command of boogie woogie. He’s recorded and performed with Kim Wilson, Elvin Bishop, John Hammond Jr., Little Walter’s sideman Dave Myers, Zigaboo Modeliste, Johnny Clyde Copeland, Earl King, Lowell Fulson, Johnnie Johnson, and folk singer Odetta.

Providing excellent support are Galen Green and Kamrin Ortiz (saxophones), Greg Wyser-Pratte (drums), and Lukas Vesely (bass). They have performed and recorded with jazz artists Rene Marie and Alex Acuña, classical clarinetist Richard Stoltzman, and reggae legends The Abyssinians and Don Carlos. Accomplishments include jazz scholarships to the Berklee School of Music, and faculty positions at the Stanford Jazz Workshop.

Steve Lucky & the Rhumba Bums have two critically acclaimed recordings, Some Like It Hot and Come Out Swingin’!, garnering 4 Stars in Downbeat Magazine.
