At the age of 5, Brett Brandstatt began to teach himself how to play piano in the styles of Johnny Johnson, Albert Ammons, Otis Spann, Memphis Slim, and others. He has since picked up guitar, banjo, and accordion, and can quickly find a voice on most instruments. At 15, Brett was recruited to play and record an album with Linda Tillery and Eric Bibb. Through that opportunity, he has had the honor of performing with Ruthie Foster, Ndugu Chancler, Ruth Davies, and many more incredible musicians. Currently, Brett is seeking a formal education with the Berklee College of Music in Boston, firmly rooted in the blues while expanding on his love and knowledge of Jazz and world music genres.

“Blues harmonica player of the year” and “Blues New Artist of The Year” in 2009 from the West Coast Blues Hall of Fame, Kyle Rowland, has been dominating the stage since the tender age of 10 years old. Beginning his career sitting in and receiving lessons from the hit Sacramento band, Mick Martin and the Blues Rockers, for 7 consecutive years, Kyle quickly and naturally developed his own sound. With help from a few of his heroes such as James Cotton, Hubert Sumlin, Matt “Guitar” Murphy, Billy Boy Arnold, Lazy Lester, and many others, Kyle learned specific techniques of stage presence, the music business, and several highly revered harmonica secrets. kylerowlandblues.com

Vance Ehlers, from Oakland, CA, taught himself the contrabass in his early twenties and has been playing professionally ever since. Taking gigs from anyone that calls, Vance has traveled the world playing with a multitude of diverse bands that put his slapping bass to use, entertaining the crowds. Vance is currently performing with Aki Kumar’s Bollywood Blues Band.  He has also performed with Charlie Luvin, Mark Hummel and the Blues Survivors, Little Charlie And The NightCats, JR Watson, Indigo Swing, Atomic Cocktail, Mitch Woods, Jinx Jones, The Little Village Foundation Allstars, and many more!

Whether on the road touring with some of the nation's top acts, laying down session work in the studio, or mentoring students of all levels, drummer Andrew Guterman brings passion, professionalism, and unique personal style to every project he undertakes. Although formally educated at New York's world-renowned New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, Guterman is by no means bound by a solely academic approach. In contrast, it is his extensive performance experience in styles as diverse as jazz, rock, roots blues, country, and reggae that has quickly positioned him as one of the most in demand drummers and educators in the region. Despite his busy touring and recording schedule, Guterman remains a fixture of the Bay Area, CA music scene, regularly performing and collaborating with a who's who of local talent. And all this while actively giving back through mentoring and teaching musicians of all levels and age groups. andrewguterman.com
