The vast majority of Steinway grands made in the prewar era were finished in mahogany and ebony - only a small fraction of grands produced had cases veneered in American Walnut. This model M is one such piano, produced just before Steinway ceased grand production to concentrate on the war effort. This instrument comes to us from decades long family ownership. The walnut finish is in original condition and while not perfect it is still quite attractive. The piano plays well with its original components including beautiful ivory keys. Size 5ft 7in. Serial number 313082.
